California Casserole

  

You could add 1-16 ounce frozen vegetables of your choice and you would have California One-dish Meal.

 

 

1 lb 

 

ground beef

 

1/2 cup 

 

onion, chopped

 

1 cup 

 

celery, diced

 

1/4 cup 

 

green pepper, diced

 

1 cup 

 

uncooked rice

 

1

 

large can diced tomatoes (16 oz.)

 

1 cup 

 

uncooked rice

 

1/2 cup 

 

water

 

2 tsp 

 

salt

 

2 tsp 

 

chili powder

 

 

 

Pepper to taste

 

1 Tbs 

 

Worcestershire sauce

 

1 cup 

 

chopped or sliced black olives

 

 

 

 

Sauté lean ground beef. Add onion, green pepper and celery and sauté for about 5 minutes. Add rice and the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Transfer to a 2-quart casserole dish. Cover and bake at 325° for 45-60 minutes.
