Italian Casserole

  

Add 1-16 ounce frozen vegetables of your choice (green beans sound good) and you will have an Italian one-dish meal.

 

 

1- 1/2 lbs 

 

ground beef

 

1 cup 

 

onion, chopped

32-ounce jar spaghetti sauce

 

1/3 cup 

 

water

 

1- 1/2 tsp 

 

salt

 

1 tsp 

 

basil

 

1 tsp 

 

oregano

 

1 tsp 

 

sugar

 

1/4 tsp 

 

pepper

medium potatoes, thinly sliced

8-ounce package shredded Mozzarella cheese

 

 

 

 

Cook meat and onions until tender. Add sauce, water and seasonings. Cook 2 minutes. Layer in baking dish; add meat mixture and potatoes, ending with meat. Cover with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Remove foil. Sprinkle with cheese and bake 10 minutes longer.
