Snacks, Snacks, Snacks!
Easy, Quick and Delicious!
Snacks are an important and necessary part of a
child's life. Because of the huge amounts of energy
expended, little bodies need refueling between meals.
Because snacks play such an important role in keeping kids
healthy it also is important to choose healthy, nutritious
snacks as often as possible.
Most of these snacks are great anytime -
mid-morning, after school, before a late dinner, and at
bedtime. They're are also great as additions to meals or
when you're looking for something light.
Some of these snacks are intended for treats.
There is a treat section to the kid's section and there seems
to be a fine line between snack and treat. I guess the
difference is this: Snacks should be healthy and are used
as between meals to keep your kids' bodies refueled and
energized. Treats are treats -- They are usually
sweetened and are for the most part nutritionally void --
So....go easy on treats. They are fine in moderation but
not for a daily lifestyle.
