Layered Salad

This salad is very well received by children and adults.
It is best when made the day ahead, so it makes a great make ahead dish.

|
1 head
|
|
lettuce, shredded
|
|
|
1/2 cup
|
|
celery, chopped
|
|
|
1/2 cup
|
|
green pepper, chopped
|
|
|
1/2 cup
|
|
red onion, sliced
|
|
|
1 cup
|
|
peas, frozen
|
|
|
Topping:
|
|
|
2 cups
|
|
mayonnaise
|
|
|
2 Tbs
|
|
sugar
|
|
|
1 cup
|
|
Cheddar cheese, grated
|
|
|

slices bacon, fried and crumbled feta
cheese

Layer vegetables in a 9x13 inch pan (or looks elegant
layered in a glass bowl). Sprinkle with sugar. Spread mayonnaise over top of salad, covering completely.
Sprinkle cheese and bacon on top just before serving. Best when made a day ahead of time.

Option: Add sliced or chopped boiled egg in a
layer.
