Layered Salad

  

This salad is very well received by children and adults. It is best when made the day ahead, so it makes a great make ahead dish.

 

 

1 head 

 

lettuce, shredded

 

1/2 cup 

 

celery, chopped

 

1/2 cup 

 

green pepper, chopped

 

1/2 cup 

 

red onion, sliced

 

1 cup 

 

peas, frozen

 

Topping:

 

2 cups 

 

mayonnaise

 

2 Tbs 

 

sugar

 

1 cup 

 

Cheddar cheese, grated

slices bacon, fried and crumbled feta cheese

 

 

 

Bacon Bits Can Be Substituted or I love to use Hormel® Premium Real Crumbled Bacon

Layer vegetables in a 9x13 inch pan (or looks elegant layered in a glass bowl). Sprinkle with sugar. Spread mayonnaise over top of salad, covering completely. Sprinkle cheese and bacon on top just before serving. Best when made a day ahead of time.

Option: Add sliced or chopped boiled egg in a layer.
